I like how the schoolteacher was chosen to tell the story in first person, and I love the lovingly crafted characters. Definitely an awesome book!5/5(2). This book, set in the Byzantine era, tells the story of a noble girl, a slave, a dancing bear, and a holy man. Overall I was impressed by the story and the treatment of the time period, although there were a few implicit attitudes which grated on my nerves/5.

Katie Johnson, age 9 - 'I found this story very moving and deeply is incredible how Michael Morpurgo has created such a touching book.'. I think the book was good nevertheless it was very short and not muck went on in the book.

It was more like a long passage not a book. I think the title was not the best title as the bear was not dancing it was technically just moving its shoulders. I think this should have been called Bruno as the book was more about the bear not it dancing/5().

I very much enjoyed the dancing bear. It was a nice story with maybe perhaps a less pleasing ending. Things I liked - 1. The bond between Roxanne and the bear. The beggining. THE BEAR. Things I didn't like 1. It was a bit dull at times 2. The ending 3. How short it was. Overall a nice book Reviews: Editions for The Dancing Bear: (Paperback published in ), (Kindle Edition published in ), (Paperback published in ), (P Cited by: 1.
